Thörichthof (also known as Szalony Dwor and Thörichthoff; now known as Szaleniec; coordinates: 54.0417, 19.2629 [54° 2′ 30″ N, 19° 15′ 46″ E]; population in 1905, 154) is located approximately 14 kilometres (9 miles) east of Malbork (Marienburg), 16 km. (10 mi.) south-west of Elbląg (Elbing), 22 km. (13 mi.) south-east of Nowy Dwór Gdański (Tiegenhof), and 55 km. (34 mi.) south-east of the regional capital Gdańsk (Danzig).

The 1776 Prussian census lists ten Mennonite families in Thörichthof with the following surnames: Casper, Dau, Dick, Dircksen, Fisch, Funck, Grunau, Jantzen, and Kaettler. In 1820 Thörichthof had 124 inhabitants, of which 38 were Mennonite.
Mennonites who were residents of Thörichthof were members of the Thiensdorf-Markushof Mennonite Church.
