The [[Toronto (Ontario, Canada)|Toronto]] Chinese Mennonite congregation began services in 1979, and formally organized in 1980. The first building was occupied in 1989; for its first years it met at the [[Danforth Mennonite Church (Toronto, Ontario, Canada)|Danforth Mennonite Church]] on Sunday afternoons. Toronto Chinese withdrew from the General Conference and Canadian Conference in 1991 claiming it was unable to meet its commitments to the conferences.
