Trijn Jans, an Anabaptist martyr, drowned at Amsterdam, Holland, on 15 May 1535, with nine other victims. She was native of Monnikendam in the Dutch province of North Holland. During the trial on 1 March she related that she had been baptized at Emden, East Friesland, by Melchior (probably Melchior Hofmann) and that her husband was executed at Zwolle.
