Born at the village of Shakalongo in the Belgian Congo ([[Congo, Democratic Republic of|Democratic Republic of Congo]]), Tshimika Mutondo attended primary school at the Shambungu Baptist Mission (1930) and was baptized in 1934. He worked as a cook in a missionary home and completed primary school in 1942. Later he completed Emmaus correspondence courses and extension theology courses. He married Makeka Rebeka Natal in 1942 and they both began teaching the [[Bible  |Bible]]. From 1946 to 1957 he and his wife were houseparents for the girls in the school dormitory and Tshimaka was foreman of the mission workmen. In 1957 he was ordained as Mennonite Brethren pastor and church leader. Tshimika and his wife were the parents of seven living children. He died of a heart attack on 22 October 1995.
