Jan Williams (1533-88), married Aagt Pieters in 1589 and was the father of 4 sons and 5 daughters. In 1557 after the separation of the [[Waterlanders|Waterlanders]] he was chosen elder by the stricter party and ordained by [[Dirk Philips (1504-1568)|Dirk Philips]]. He lived in Hoorn, where he and Lubbert Gerrits (after 1559) were influential leaders.
