Wybrandi family

Wybrandi, a Dutch Mennonite family, formerly found in Friesland, usually butter merchants, and owners of tileworks at Leeuwarden, where they lived from the 17th century. Gentius Wybrandi, b. ca. 1735 at Leeuwarden, d. there ca. 1810, studied at the Zonist seminary at Amsterdam and was a pastor at Berlikum 1761-1782 and Heerenveen 1782-1788, in which year he retired, devoting himself to farming and business. A side branch by marriage with the Tigler family is the Tigler Wybrandi family.
