Wybe Pietersz Zeeman (d.1759), a lay preacher in the Mennonite congregation of Heerenveen from 1736, was charged by the Reformed pastors with teaching Socinian doctrines, as were his co-preachers Wytze Jeens Brouwer and Pieke Tjommes. Whereas Brouwer and Tjommes were suspended from their office by the governor of Schoterland on 5 June 1739, Zeeman consented to the (Reformed) anti-Socinian formulation and was again permitted to preach.
