Van Zeggelen, a Dutch Mennonite family. Wilhemus Josephus van Zeggelen (1811-1879), a Roman Catholic, joined the Mennonites in 1848. He was a director of a printing shop at The Hague, Holland, and was known for his humorous poetry. Among his children were Marie Christine van Zeggelen (1870-1953), well-known Dutch novelist and dramatist, and author of children's books, and Constantijn Henri van Zeggelen (1878-1939), a lawyer at Amsterdam, twice a deacon in the congregation, trustee of the Algemene Doopsgezinde Sociëteit, in 1914-1939 a trustee of the Oranjeappel orphanage, and in 1924-1939 a trustee of the Christina Stichting.
