Andries N. is the name given by the Martyrs Mirror to two martyrs who were executed in 1570. The author explains the initial N. as signifying that they were dead to the world and had devoted themselves to the service of Christ. One of them died in Antwerp with his father and brother after giving a good testimony to his faith and suffering all the torture cheerfully. This martyr is identical with Andries Jacobsz. The other was imprisoned for his faith and after three hours of cruel torture was burned at the stake. This martyr, concerning whom particulars are lacking, was not executed in Antwerp, as the Martyrs' Mirror states, but at Haarlem.
