Anthonis Schoonvelt, also named Thonis (Thuenis) van Waestene, an [[Anabaptism|Anabaptist]] martyr, was strangled and burned on the marketplace at [[Ieper (Flanders, Belgium)|Ieper]], [[Belgium|Belgium]], in 1561.
