Barbara, "a prophetess" of the Strasbourg Anabaptists, whose visions and prophecies, chiefly centered around Melchior Hoffman, created a considerable stir. Barbara was the wife of Hans Kropf and the sister-in-law of Pilgram Marpeck. Hulshof says of her, "Barbara won a great name for herself among the prophetesses."
