Josiah C. Clemmer,  (born 1 May 1827, died 28 June 1905), a prominent bishop of the Franconia Mennonite Conference, a fourth-generation descendant of immigrant Henry Clemmer of 1738, lived and died on the original Clemmer homestead farm in Franconia Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, near the village of Franconia. He was ordained preacher of the Franconia congregation on 9 November 1860, and bishop in December 1867. He was an able preacher and effective leader of the moderate conservative type. He married Sarah Kulp 9 November 1851 (8 children), and Lydia Derstine, 24 December 1884.
