Antonius Corvinus (Rabe), a Lutheran divine, was one of the most important reformers of North Germany, organizing the Lutheran church at Goslar am Harz 1528-1531, and Hildesheim in 1544. In 1536 Landgrave Philip of Hesse sent to him some Münsterite Anabaptists who had been taken prisoner, in order to convert them, but Corvinus did not succeed in "converting those stubborn Widertouffer." Corvinus wrote much about the Münsterite Anabaptists: Acta: Handlungen: Legation und schrifte . . . Inn der Münsterschen sache geschehen . . . Item. Gespreche und disputation Antonij Coruini und Joannis Kymei mit dem Münsterschen König . . . MDXXXVI  (Wittenberg, n.d.) (a copy is in the Mennonite Historical Library at Goshen, Indiana); De miserabili Monasteriensium Anabaptistarum obsidione (The Miserable Occupation of the Anabaptists of Münster), which was a letter to the Lutheran divine G. Spalatinus (published 1536, n.p.). The Waarachtige Historie, hoe het Evangelium te Munster angevangen ende daarna door de wederdopers verstoret, weder opgehauden heeft (True History How the Gospel arose in Münster and then, Destroyed by the Anabaptists, has Ceased), which has been attributed to Corvinus was not written by him, but is a Dutch tranlation of Warhafftige Historie attributed by C. A. Cornelius to joint authorship by Heinrich Dorpius (named in the title) and Dietrich Fabricius von Anhalt.
