Herzberg (Pomeranian Voivodeship, Poland)

Herzberg (also known as Herzenberg; now known as Miłocin; coordinates: 54.26800, 18.81542 [54° 16′ 4″ N, 18° 48′ 55″ E]; population in 1905, 341; in 2013, 243) is located 11.8 kilometers (km) (7.4 miles) east of Pruszcz Gdański (Praust), 13.3 km (8.3 miles) south-east of Gdańsk (Danzig), 18.7 km (11.6 miles) north of Tczew (Dirschau), and 20.4 km (12.7 miles) west north-west of Nowy Dwór Gdański (Tiegenhof).
Until 1793 Herzberg was part of Danzig in Royal Prussia (also known as Polish Prussia) in the Kingdom of Poland. The Second Partition of Poland in 1793 added Danzig and its surrounding territory to the province of West Prussia. Herzberg was situated in the district (Kreis) of Danzig from 1818 until 1887, when it became part of the district of Danziger Niederung. Herzberg became part of the Free City of Danzig from 1920 until the outbreak of World War II in 1939, when it came under the control of Nazi Germany. In February 1945 it was occupied by Soviet forces and eventually returned to Poland. In 2014 Herzenberg was a village in the administrative district of Gmina Cedry Wielkie, within Gdańsk County, Pomeranian Voivodeship, in northern Poland.
In 1935 there were three Mennonite families in Herzberg, with the following surnames: Epp, Penner, and Reimer. They were members of the Danzig Mennonite Church.
