The Mountain View Church of God in Christ, Mennonite congregation began services in the 1980s. A new building project was completed in 1991. The congregation originated through colonization of northern [[Manitoba (Canada)|Manitoba]].

The Neepawa-Birnie-Riding Mountain area was selected. Minister Linden Wohlgemuth was among the initial settlers.
  
In 1985 there were 49 members; in 1995, 92; in 2000, 116. The congregation has been affiliated with the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite.

During the first summer, services were held in homes as well as a small rented church. Then a bungalow built on the Linden Wohlgemuth farm initially intended for resale was used as worship space. In fall 1983 the building was moved to a more centrally-located lot closer to Birnie. The church basement served as the school until 1990. In 1989/90 the congregation constructed a new church building, with the the former building completely dedicated to school purposes. The new church was dedicated 23 September 1990.
