Ottawa Mennonite Church (Ottawa, Ontario, Canada)
The Ottawa Mennonite congregation began services in 1959, and formally organized in 1963. The first building was occupied in 1965, with a subsequent building program in 1985. William Dick is considered the founding leader of the group. The congregation originated through urbanization. The group was formerly known as Ottawa Mennonite Fellowship.
In 1965 there were 28 members; in 1975, 96; in 1985, 98; in 1995, 144; in 2000, 164. The congregation has been affiliated with the Conference of United Mennonite Churches in Ontario (1963-1988), Conference of Mennonites in Canada (1967-), Mennonite Conference of Eastern Canada (1988-). The language of worship is English.
The church is located at 1830 Kilborn Ave., Ottawa, ON, K1H 6N4. (613) 733-6729. Pastor Donald G. Friesen served in 2002 as a congregational leader.
