Brian and Becky Wiebe began planting a new church in the Promontory area of Chilliwack in December 2000 and had their first public event on Christmas Eve with 130 in attendance. In 2011 the congregation purchased a downtown building (Liquidation World) and launched a second campus in downtown Chilliwack. The store remained a tenant in part of the space while the church occupied 10,000 square feet. In January 2014 the church took over another 10,000 square feet of former retail space to expand its children's ministry space.

In 2013 the downtown Chilliwack ministry was named Main Street Church while the ministry in the Promontory area was renamed Hillside Community Church, with both ministries functioning under Promontory Ministries.
