Some of them brought Quebec to the attention of the Canadian Mennonite Brethren Conference and its mission board -- Canada Inland Mission (1957). In 1961 Lydia Krahn Dyck and Ernest Dyck, back from the Congo, settled in St-Jérôme about 25 miles northwest of Montreal to begin a church planting ministry. The first baptismal service was held in 1964; in October of the same year the first congregation was organized with 16 members.
