Rempel, Cornelius (1856-1921)

Cornelius Rempel (27 October 1856-23 September 1921), who first settled in Rosenort, Manitoba, was one of the delegates of the Old Colony Mennonites sent to South America in 1919 to find a place of settlement. After investigating some other possibilities, including the United States, the delegation went to Mexico where a purchase of land was made resulting in the migration of most of the Old Colony Mennonites to that country.
