Friedrich Roth, (1845-1932), a teacher in the Gymnasium of Augsburg, Germany, the city of his birth, author of the four-volume Augsburgs Reformationsgeschichte (Munich, 1889) and the four-volume Augsburgs Reformationsgeschichte (Munich, 1901-11); "Zur Geschichte der Wiedertäufer in Oberschwaben"; I, "Die Anfange des Wiedertäufertums in Augsburg" (Christian Meyer); II, "Zur Lebensgeschichte Eitelhans Langenmantels von Augsburg"; and III, "Der Höhepunkt der wiedertäuferischen Bewegung in Augsburg und ihr Niedergang in Jahre 1528," in Zeitschrift des Historischen Vereins für Schwaben und Neuburg XXVII (1900) 1-45, and XXVIII (1901) 1-154; "Der Meistersinger Georg Breuning und die religiöse Bewegung der Waldenser und Täufer," in Monatshefte der Comeniusgesellschaft, 1904, 74-93; Leonhard Kaiser, ein evangelischer Märtyrer (Halle, 1900); Willibald Pirkheimer . , . Der Einfluss des Humanismus und der Reformation auf die Erziehung und Schule (Halle, 1898). The "Höhepunkt" article of 1901 is extraordinarily valuable, with an exhaustive exploitation of the archival documents relating to the Augsburg Anabaptists.
