Jan Dirksz Schotvanger was a preacher of the Old Frisian ([[Arke Noach (Amsterdam, Netherlands)|Arke Noach]]) congregation at [[Amsterdam (Noord-Holland, Netherlands)|Amsterdam]] in 1707-35. He was one of the lay preachers who led this church for a number of years, others being [[Lely, Cornelis (1686-1758)|Cornelis Lely]], Cornelis Schellinger, and [[Schagen, Marten (1700-1770)|Marten Schagen]]. Though there is not much information concerning Schotvanger, it is known that he was pious, capable, and hard-working. Schotvanger died 1737 at Amsterdam, Netherlands. Cornelis Lely delivered his funeral sermon.
