Simonsdorf (also known as Szymon; now known as Szymankowo; coordinates: 54.073056, 18.923056 [54° 4′ 23″ N, 18° 55′ 23″ E]; population in 1905, 373; in 2012, 768) is located approximately 9 kilometres (6 miles) northwest of Malbork (Marienburg), 20 km (12 mi.) southwest of Nowy Dwór Gdański (Tiegenhof), and 38 km (24 mi.) southeast of the regional capital Gdańsk (Danzig).

The 1776 Prussian census lists eight Mennonite families in Simonsdorf with the following surnames: Barckmann, Ens, Epp, Harder, Isaac, Penner, Van Riesen, and Zacharias. In 1820 Simonsdorf had 186 inhabitants, including 37 Mennonites.
Mennonites who were residents of Simonsdorf were members of the Heubuden Mennonite Church.
