Slavic Evangelical Church in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada began around the year 2000 when Miroslav and Nadya Peyter began working with members of the Winnipeg Slavic community. In 2005 the Peyters were forced to return to Ukraine when their Permanent Resident Application was denied.

The church joined the Manitoba Mennonite Brethren Conference in March 2011. In 2014 they met in the facilities of Portage Avenue Church.
