Jacob Strickler, Jr. (1788-1859), was a bishop in the River Brethren church (later known as Brethren in Christ) in York County, PA. He is recognized as a leader in the movement which separated from the main body of River Brethren (Brethren in Christ) to form the Old Order River Brethren. Jacob was born in York County, PA, the sone of Jacob (1755-1837) and Elizabeth (Miller) Strickler (this was not Bishop Jacob Strickler). He operated a mill with his father near Wrightsville, PA. Jacob, Jr. married Nancy Gerber (1791-1884); they had eight children.
