Uithoorn, a village near Aalsmeer in the Dutch province of North Holland, formerly the seat of a Mennonite congregation called "aan den Uit-hoorn." It belonged to the Waterlander branch, though in the 18th century it was usually called Flemish. The congregation of Uithoorn is first mentioned in 1647, but no doubt existed long before. Jan Gerrits Buyser (d. 1695) was long its preacher. There is very little information on its history and size. It belonged to the Zonist Conference, and received regular support from the Amsterdam (de Zon) and Rotterdam congregations. Though small in membership and not very wealthy it contributed liberally to the needs of the Prussian Mennonites in 1733 and 1736. Pieter van Dam, a lay preacher, served here 1743-ca. 1776. After the old church had been destroyed by fire a small new meeting place was built in 1782; Jacob de Hoop was then its elder. From 1784 Uithoorn was served by the preacher of the Aalsmeer Sijdweg congregation and in 1787 it united with this church for the ministry, but the membership was so small that is dissolved in 1804, and the meetinghouse sold to a Jewish congregation. The last preacher of Uithoorn was Cornelis Schermer, 1790-1804.
