Wall, Jacob A. (1864-1954)
Jacob A. Wall, son of Aaron Wall and Aganetha (Dick) Wall, was born 24 September 1864 in the village of Hamberg, Molotschna settlement, South Russia. In 1875 he came with his parents to Mountain Lake, Minnesota. On 31 May 1885, he was married to Elizabeth Fast. They had 9 children, of whom 3 died in their childhood. In 1906 his wife died and on 14 June 1907, he was married to Katherina Flaming, who had 4 children.
Wall was ordained as a minister of the Evangelical Mennonite Brethren Church (now Fellowship of Evangelical Bible Churches) on 20 July 1902. In 1916 he moved with is family and with others to the community northwest of Wolf Point, Montana, and organized the Evangelical Mennonite Brethren Church there, of which he was the leading pastor for many years. In 1938 he came to Dallas, Oregon. He served as a member of the Board of Foreign Missions of the Evangelical Mennonite Brethren for a period of 21 years, and 9 years on the publication committee, during which time he had a large share in making the constitution of the Defenseless Mennonite Brethren in Christ of North America, later known as the Evangelical Mennonite Brethren. He died on 7 October 1954, over 90 years of age.
