Werner, Hans (16th century)

Hans Werner, (also called Distler), an Anabaptist of Iphofen in Franconia, Germany. Because he had sheltered Jörg von Passau, an Anabaptist preacher, and been baptized by him (ca. 1527), he was punished with a fine and the loss of two fingers. In addition he was obliged to remain in the region the rest of his life, without freedom to dispose of his property.
