Tjeenk Willink, a Dutch Mennonite family. Wolterus Everhardus Jonas Tjeenk Willink, b. 1816 at Zutphen, d. there 1885, bought the publishing house of H. Asszn Doyer (also a Mennonite) at Zwolle in 1838, which he raised to great prosperity. This publishing house still exists. It specializes in editions of scholarly works. His brother Anne Tjeenk Willink, b. 18?? at Zutphen, d. 1885 at Arnhem, founded a publishing house at Arnhem. His daughter Johanna Margaretha, b. 1883 at Zwolle, was married to Koenraad Kuiper.

Herman Didericus Tjeenk Willink, b. 21 July 1843, at Zwolle, d. 8 March 1917, at Haarlem, married to Henrietta Berendina van der Goot, a son of the above Wolterus E. J. Tjeenk Willink, studied theology at the Amsterdam Mennonite Seminary in 1861-66, obtained his Th.D. degree at the University of Leiden in 1867, and was pastor of the Mennonite congregations of Tjalleberd 1868-71 and Vlissingen 1871-74. In 1874 he retired and became a partner in the bookstore and publishing house of A. C. Kruseman at Haarlem; the firm was then called Kruseman and Tjeenk Willink. In 1878 Tjeenk Willink became the sole owner. His son Herman Didericus Tjeenk Willink (1872-1945) later became his father's partner and was also a trustee of the Haarlem Mennonite congregation 1899-d. 1945 and a representative on the Algemene Doopsgezinde Societeit board 1927-41. The publishing house is now H. D. Tjeenk Willink and Son, Inc. The director since 1938 has been Ernest Lefebvre, b. 1905, a member and from 1949 a trustee of the congregation of Haarlem. This house has published Mennonite books, e.g., by C. B. Hylkema, W. J. Kühler, and H. W. Meihuizen.
